❄️Hope everyone made it through the Blizzard of 2026 in one piece—and let’s be crystal clear: do not even think about picking up a shovel. Seriously. Heart attacks spike after big storms, and no driveway is worth it. Call a neighbor, bribe a grandkid or hire someone, and supervise from the window with a hot drink in hand.
And until it’s actually safe to venture out, this week’s agenda is simple: blanket, beverage, and binge—and if you’re feeling extra ambitious, take on that junk drawer of doom.

🛍️ ReFresh Vintage Market Takes Over Bell Works
Clear a little closet space… you might be bringing something home. ReFresh Vintage Market pops up at Bell Works in Holmdel on Sunday, March 1 (11 AM–4 PM), turning the place into a full-on vintage treasure zone. Bonus: it’s free, family-friendly, and dog-friendly.
Inside, you’ll find racks of vintage clothing from every era, antique and retro jewelry, broken-in leather jackets, rock tees, and even mid-century finds. Collectors can dig through vinyl, old-school toys, VHS tapes, glassware, and other nostalgic gems. There’s also plenty of creativity in the mix—upcycled books, handmade journals, reclaimed art, wood-burned pieces, and pop culture goodies.
Feeling adventurous? Grab a mystery package sold by weight—no one knows what’s inside until you open it.
And when you need a break from the hunt, sweet treats like ice cream, pretzels, and puddings are on standby.

📅 Sunday, March 1 | 11 AM to 4 PM
Go for the nostalgia… stay for the “I can’t believe I found this” moment.
🌿 Dreaming of a Home Refresh? This Show’s for You
Got a list of “we should really fix that” projects? The New Jersey Home & Garden Show is back at the NJ Convention Center in Edison, Feb. 27–March 1—and it’s basically three days of inspiration, ideas, and “okay, let’s finally do this.”
You’ll find 100+ local pros (contractors, designers, landscapers, kitchen & bath experts) ready to help you upgrade everything from your floors to your backyard. There are also five fully designed show gardens to stroll through—perfect for stealing a few ideas for spring.
Two big highlights:
• A healthy home expert breaking down hidden toxins and air quality tips
• The “Renegade Gardener” offering live advice—bring photos of your yard and get real feedback
There’s also a marketplace with handmade goods, plus a fun “plant-your-own herb” station for kids (grandkid outing, anyone?).

🍁 Take the Grandkids: Maple Syrup Days = Sweetest Day Trip
Want a winter outing that’s equal parts fun and hands-on? Head to Happy Day Farm in Manalapan for Maple Syrup Days—where kids can see (and help with!) the magic of turning sap into syrup.
Hop on a tractor ride across the 130-acre farm, visit the “Sugar Bush,” and learn how trees are tapped (yes, they can lend Farmer Tim a hand). Then it’s off to the Sugar Shack to watch sap boil into real maple syrup—about 80 gallons of sap for ONE gallon of syrup.
There are also goats and chickens to feed, plus pancakes and syrup available for purchase.
📍 Happy Day Farm, Manalapan
📅 Feb. 28 & March 1, 14, 15, 21, 22

🍦Tasty Treats

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
Senior Specials & Sweet Swirls Coming to Freehold
Freehold, this one’s for the grown-ups (with a sweet tooth).
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is planning a new location in Freehold near W. Main Street in front of Walmart, with hopes to open by summer. (There’s one already operating in Holmdel). And here’s the part seniors will appreciate: They offer senior-friendly meal options — smaller portions, classic comfort food, and combo pricing that doesn’t require a second mortgage. Think steakburgers, fries, and a drink — just right-sized.
But let’s be honest.
You’re really going for the custard.
Freddy’s frozen custard is richer and creamier than regular ice cream, churned fresh throughout the day. We’re talking:
🍨 Classic sundaes
🥄 Thick “concretes” blended with candy or fruit
🍦 Old-school cones
🍫 Turtle sundaes dripping in caramel and hot fudge
It’s the kind of dessert that brings back boardwalk memories — without the beach traffic.
Freddy’s was founded in 2002 and named after Freddy Simon, a World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient whose hospitality roots inspired the brand’s old-fashioned diner feel.
So yes — you can grab a sensible senior combo. But you’re leaving with custard. We both know it.😉

One Last Thing
🎸Springsteen Hits the Road Again
The Boss is back — and he’s bringing a powerful message with him.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced their “Land of Hope and Dreams” U.S. tour, kicking off March 31 in Minneapolis and wrapping May 27 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
This marks their first North American run since 2024, after drawing more than 700,000 fans across Europe last year.
Springsteen says the shows will center on democracy, freedom, and what he calls the defense of the American ideal — blending arena rock with pointed commentary. Expect passion. Expect speeches. Expect 3+ hours if history tells us anything.
The full E Street lineup returns, including Roy Bittan, Patti Scialfa, Stevie Van Zandt and Max Weinberg, along with the E-Street Horns and Choir.
Bottom line: It’s not just a tour. It’s the Boss doing what he’s always done — turning the volume up when it matters. Visit Ticketmaster for tickets.
🎬That’s a wrap for this week
