🥫 Monmouth Launches Countywide Food Drive to Help Neighbors in Need
Monmouth County is stepping up to fight food insecurity this season. The Board of County Commissioners has launched a Countywide Food Drive to support local food banks and families facing hardship.
🗣️ “Many families are struggling to put food on the table,” said Commissioner Director Tom Arnone. “This food drive is one way we can make a real difference.” Commissioner Susan Kiley added, “No one in Monmouth County should go hungry this holiday season.”
📦 How to help:
Residents and County employees are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at either of these locations:
Monmouth County Library Headquarters
125 Symmes Drive, ManalapanEastern Branch Library
1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury
Let’s show up for our neighbors! Every can, box, or jar helps. ❤️
💍 A Fond Farewell in Manalapan
After 40 sparkling years, Jewelry Design Gallery is closing its doors — but not without one last thank-you to the community. Owner Drew Cowit, who opened the beloved Towne Pointe shop in 1984 with his wife Carrie, is retiring to spend more time with family (and grandkids!). Known for custom creations and old-school service that turned customers into friends, the shop is hosting a Going Out of Business Sale with big savings on jewelry, watches, and repair services. Stop by to say goodbye and maybe snag one more timeless treasure.

🎃 One Last Thing… Reese’s Rules the Polls!
Move over, politics — the real bipartisan winner this fall is peanut butter & chocolate. According to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton poll, Reese’s is New Jersey’s top Halloween candy, grabbing 21% of the vote from sweet-toothed voters statewide.
🥈 Snickers came in second (11%) and — surprise! — 🎯 candy corn nabbed third place (9%), proving that love it or hate it, it’s still hanging in there.
Interestingly, voters aged 50 to 64 bucked the trend, giving Snickers a slight edge. But across party lines and demographics, everyone seems to agree: Reese’s is the true Halloween heavyweight.
Moral of the story? If you want to avoid leftovers next Halloween, stock up on orange-wrapped peanut butter perfection.🧡
